This Just In…Blake Shelton Is Returning To The Voice
The news Voice fans have been hoping to hear was announced on Tuesday night (May 14). Blake Shelton is returning to the show!
Shelton was part of the original lineup of Voice coaches when it debuted in 2011. He remained on the show for 23 seasons without ever taking a break.
Over those 23 seasons, Shelton won nine times, more than any other coach in Voice history. Some of his past winners include Bryce Leatherwood, Danielle Bradbery, Cassadee Pope, and Craig Wayne Boyd.

But after being on The Voice for over a decade, Shelton left after Season 23. He cited a desire to spend more time with his wife (and fellow Voice coach), Gwen Stefani, and her three sons as the reason for his departure.
In interviews since he left, Shelton has said he doesn’t miss being on The Voice. He told Jennifer Hudon (another former coach) that he “wasn’t even planning on being there that long,” but stuck around because he didn’t want to leave during the pandemic.
Fans have speculated if Shelton will ever return to The Voice. Even coach John Legend pondered the possibility but said, “I don’t think he has any desire to come back to Hollywood and film The Voice.”
But Blake IS Coming Back – Get All The Details About His Return
Now, Voice fans can rejoice, because Shelton IS returning to The Voice. But before you get too excited, he isn’t coming back to serve as a coach.
Instead, NBC shared that Shelton is returning to The Voice for its Season 25 finale on Tuesday (May 21). He will join other former coaches to celebrate The Voice‘s landmark 25th season.
Those other coaches include Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, Kelly Clarkson, CeeLo Green, Jennifer Hudson, Nick Jonas, and Adam Levine.
Even NBC reports that not much is known about Shelton’s upcoming appearance on the show. The network said:
“Details on what, exactly, he’ll be doing for the Finale are unknown right now. Looks like you’ll have to tune in live to find out!“
