Caitlin Clark’s recent press conference after the Indiana Fever’s win over the Washington Mystics is stirring online buzz. The Fever rookie recalled the exact field goal attempts from multiple players on her team while sharing the reasoning for the 88-81 home victory.
In the press conference, the former Iowa Hawkeye expressed that she saw some improvements with her Fever teammates.
“I’ve gotten a better feel for the game over the course of maybe the last ten games. When you get tossed on the court with your new teammates it’s kind of hard to feel things out,” said Clark via Vivan on X.
“Our flow on offense has gotten a lot better. Like you saw last game I took 12 shots, AB [Aliyah Boston] took 11, Kelsey Mitchell took 11, so it was very balanced overall. I think Lyss [NaLyssa Smith] took 8, E-Dub [Eria Wheeler] took 9,” Clark adds.
The 2024 WNBA first overall pick’s press conference highlights her incredible basketball IQ, being able to view the game from the inside and out and memorize how the stat sheet was finalized.

Clark and the Indiana Fever have been rolling through their recent schedule. They’re riding a four-game win streak, and much of the credit has to go to improving team chemistry among the players and coaching staff.
As Clark explained, the Fever is playing a balanced game that’s gotten everyone involved, picking apart opposing defenses.
There was talk all year about Clark’s overrated skill, the firing of head coach Christie Sides, and even the nitpicking of the entire Fever’s roster. They’ve quickly shut those naysayers down and will look to keep their foot on the gas as they travel to play the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
