Cardi B has allegedly filed for divorce from husband, Offset, after nearly seven years of marriage.

The WAP rapper, who shares two children, with the Migos star, has allegedly called time on the pair’s on-off marriage. Sources told TMZ that the split has “nothing to do with cheating.” According to the insider, they couple going their separate ways was a “long time in coming,” since they have been growing apart for a while.

“They’re just disconnected from each other,” a source told the outlet.

The pair reportedly were trying to make their marriage work for the first half of the year before her attorney filed the divorce papers.

The Invasion of Privacy rapper first filed for divorce in 2020, but she withdrew the documents. Cardi and Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, married in 2017 just months after being linked as a couple. Cardi, 31, shares two children with Offset, 6-year-old Kulture and 2-year-old Wave. She is reportedly asking for primary custody of the children.

The Bronx native, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, has been open about taking accountability for not being able to make their relationship work. “I don’t want to grow,” she said. “I remember last year when we was going through our hard time. And it’s like, ‘Put your album out. You’re overstressing. When was the last time we went on a vacation?’ And it’s like, ‘I don’t got time to go on a vacation, because this comes first.’”

“We have our own bad stuff,” Cardi told Rolling Stone, “We’re from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be … not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life.”

The Bodak Yellow rapper said that her “career comes first” and “kids come second” so she could not be as focused on her relationship with Offset.

She added: “Sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship.”

In December 2023, Cardi confirmed she had split from Offset and confessed she had been “single for a minute”.

The rapper took to Instagram Live to share the news, saying: “I’ve been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid to like – not afraid I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign.”
