During a segment on ESPN’s “Get Up” program last Friday, popular ESPN media personality Monica McNutt declared that Angel Reese should be the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
“My rookie of the year is going to go based on the standings. … And the Sky right now are in the playoffs. So, you’d have to give the nod in my mind to Angel Reese,” McNutt said.
This stance caused a lot of controversy among WNBA fans.
Now McNutt believes there’s a new WNBA Rookie of the Year favorite.
Although her reasoning has not changed.

“If [the Indiana Fever] are 7 [in the WNBA Standings], that’s going to be a runaway [for Clark] in terms of Rookie of the Year,” McNutt said on a recent Yahoo! Sports segment.
“If Angel Reese is able to track the [WNBA All-Time Double-Double season record], that will be historic. But one of my bigger metrics on this Rookie of the Year is going to be, how do you impact winning? And it’s just hard to debate that.”
Therefore, McNutt still believes that final standings should determine who wins WNBA Rookie of the Year.
And because Indiana are currently above them in the standings, that makes Clark the ROTY.
