Seattle Storm rookie Nika Muhl recently shared a message on Instagram, posting two photos of her time in the WNBA. Muhl captioned the post, “Work is my state of mind.”

This simple yet profound message from Muhl has been displayed throughout the entire season by the rookie out of UConn. The second-round pick from the 2024 WNBA draft has yet to get much opportunity with the Storm. She’s averaging under two minutes per game, but Muhl has been highly vocal about her sheer joy of being in Seattle.

Muhl said she’s grateful to learn from veterans like Jewell Loyd and Skylar Diggins-Smith and that the opportunity to play will arise when she’s ready.

After posting the message, Muhl had thousands of reactions, but two of them in particular were turning heads.

WNBA rookies Caitlin Clark and Cameron Brink liked Muhl’s photo and shared support for the UConn product.

There may be some heat from Clark and Angel Reese in the draft, but aside from that, the class is healthily engaging with each other. Brink has quickly backed up Clark as she’s received backlash, and others like Kate Martin have also responded to Clark’s scrutiny.

While Muhl may not be getting much playing time with Seattle, her undeniable talent and the support of her peers provide a promising outlook. As the Huskies’ all-time leader in assists, she’s a player too skilled to be confined to the sidelines, and it’s only a matter of time before she makes her mark in meaningful minutes.
