Andrew Schulz Bashes A’Ja Wilson and Angel Reese While Lauding Caitlin Clark: “Nobody in the WNBA Does It…”

WNBA is recording peak performance with its queens shattering records and registering new ones under their names. While Chicago Sky’s rookie is reigning supreme in double-doubles, A’ja Wilson is currently enjoying her 25+ points spree in her matchups. Still, comedian Andrew Schulz believes that Wilson and Reese “aren’t as marketable as Caitlin” as he builds on praises for the No. 1 draft pick for her one particular gameplay.

According to Schulz, no other WNBA player is as marketable as the Fever’s rookie. So far, Clark’s matchups have amassed record-breaking viewerships. Perhaps one reason behind the filling up WNBA arenas to 94% could be the never-seen-before logo 3s that Clark has brought to the WNBA. “Caitlin Clark is hitting logo threes. She’s the first girl in history to do that regularly. We like logo three…Nobody in the WNBA does it with her frequency,” Schulz said, via Brilliant Idiots. It so happened that in the NBA, spectators would see Stephen Curry putting up a similar show but now, the WNBA has it too.

Clark has always been known for her impressive 39% shooting accuracy, often featuring her half-court shots. In her training camp session with the Fever, she also won a half-court shooting contest to display her exceptional range. Moving on, Schulz compared A’ja Wilson and Angel Reese with Clark saying that neither Wilson nor Reese engage with shots from half-court or “logo 3s.

Undoubtedly, Wilson has many records registered under her name, including 28 ppg, which is the highest by any WNBA player. Reese, on the other hand, features an impressive 12.4 points and 10.8 rebounds, helping her to record the seventh consecutive double-double, the most by a rookie until now. But as per Schulz, these games still lack marketability. Further adding, he said, “You cannot market Angel Reese’s game.”

But does that mean Reese is not marketable? Certainly not. “You can market Angel Reese because she’s great on TikTok,” revealed Schulz, appreciating her 3.4 million followers on Instagram. He added, “She’s great in her ability to engage with people. She’s great in press conferences, the whole thing. So you can market that side of it.

Just like Reese’s on-court abilities, she features impressive off-court fan engagement skills with her striking personality. This can be estimated by Reese’s TikTok post today, which crossed over 150,000 viewers within an hour of posting. She just posted a glimpse of her celebration dance to Sexyy Red and Drake’s ‘U My Everything’. But why was she in a jolly mood? Could it be after Sky’s victory?

Reese’ shines bright on and off-court

In the last matchup against the Dallas Wings, the Sky passed with flying colors as they recorded a win after a series of losses. While it was a combined effort by the team, ‘Chi Barbie’ led with a career-high 18 rebounds to cruise Sky to an 83-72 win. Additionally, Reese also secured a new WNBA record with seven consecutive double-doubles.

For those unaware, she’s the first rookie in WNBA history to achieve this feat. But her reasons to celebrate do not end here. Last month, she invested in a women’s soccer team and became the co-owner of DC Power Football Club. Finally, she got the right opportunity to celebrate all this together.

She jumped in to dance with her teammates, which was then posted on her official TikTok account. But despite all these achievements, Reese’s game, according to Schulz, is considered “boring.” Now, the question is: does this mean Reese has to work harder to give Clark’s viewership success a tough battle?
