Justin Timberlake has been arrested for driving while intoxicated in the village of Sag Harbor, located in the prestigious vacation destination of the Hamptons.

The “Mirrors” singer, 43, was in police custody in the Long Island, New York, town as of Tuesday morning, June 18, a representative for the Sag Harbor Police Department told PEOPLE.

The police will release a statement later today and would not confirm charges to PEOPLE. However, a source said that the multi-hyphenate was arrested on DWI charges after having dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor.

Justin Timberlake was dressed casually, and shielded his face with sunglasses and a hat as he left the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on Tuesday following his arrest and arraignment on DWI charges.

The 43-year-old won’t be due back to the courthouse until July.

Justin Timberlake Has Been Released from Police Custody Following DWI Arrest

After his arrest for driving while intoxicated or impaired on Long Island, “SexyBack” singer Justin Timberlake appeared in court for his arraignment on Tuesday, June 18. He was then released from police custody.

A source tells PEOPLE Timberlake was accompanied by an attorney and two other individuals. He was handcuffed in court “with his hands in front of him” and wore “a black bowling shirt, light jeans and white and baby blue Air Force 1s” during the appearance at a Sag Harbor courthouse. His cuffs were removed after the arraignment.
