Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic has impressed everyone with his quick recovery from a knee surgery. He tore the meniscus in his right knee during his fourth-round match at the 2024 French Open and was expected to miss the Wimbledon Championships after going under the knife to address the issue.

However, Djokovic has recovered in time to compete at Wimbledon, where he will be eyeing the title. With his herculean effort in recovery, Djokovic has also impressed many, including Alex de Minaur, who has labeled the Serbian “superhuman.”

The Australian ace says that he is not surprised at Djokovic’s recovery. He also said that he expects the 24-time Major winner to go full throttle at Wimbledon and stated that no one should be surprised by anything he does.

It doesn’t surprise me, he is superhuman. He’s done incredible things before and I expect him to be back and ready to go for it Wimbledon. I’m pretty sure he will be back, playing at the top of his game and looking like he never had an injury. That’s what we expect from Novak and we shouldn’t be surprised by anything he does.

It is to be seen how true Alex de Minaur‘s prediction about Djokovic’s performance at Wimbledon comes to be, as the Serbian could win a record-equalling eighth title this fortnight.

Djokovic said that the thought of missing the Championships did not sit well with him. However, he also clarified that it was not a decision made purely out of emotions.

It's this incredible desire to play, just to compete. Particularly because it is Wimbledon, the tournament that always has been a dream tournament for me when I was a kid. I always dreamed of playing Wimbledon. Just the thought of me missing Wimbledon was just not correct. I didn't want to deal with that.
