Fellow Australian professional wrestlers Rhea Ripley from WWE and Buddy Matthews from AEW have officially tied the knot. The Eradicator shared a photo of the couple dressed up in all black for the theme of their wedding.

Rhea Ripley has been out of action from the WWE ever since suffering a shoulder injury following WrestleMania 40. The Judgment Day member was forced to relinquish her Women’s World Championship and has since been taking her time to heal and enjoy the break from the ring.

The former WWE Women’s World Champion has been making the most of the time out, as she took a vacation with her partner, Buddy Matthews. The pair had announced their engagement in August last year after three years of dating even while working on two different rival wrestling promotions.

Fans have been rooting for the couple ever since their engagement was made official and are now rejoicing at this news. Rhea Ripley shared a photo of the two kissing in joy in front of a neon sign saying “Til death” on Instagram after having officially become husband and wife on 23rd June 2024.

Rhea Ripley to leave Judgment Day after she returns to WWE, backstage personality claims

The Eradicator has been on a much-deserved break since she gave up her title after a long and successful reign as champion. However, she has had her position in her current group seemingly compromised after her rival, Liv Morgan, has been scheming to take everything away from her.

A recent report has also indicated that Ripley might not be cleared until SummerSlam 2024 and is now forced to sit on the sidelines and watch her rival enact her revenge plans. However, a backstage personality has stated that once she does return to WWE, she and Damian Priest will turn to the good side.

Speaking on the NotSam Wrestling Podcast, professional broadcaster Sam Roberts believed that Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest will soon turn babyface. This could lead to a civil war angle among the members of The Judgment Day as both sides will disagree and fall on separate pages in the end.

“If you don’t think Damian Priest is a good guy by the time we get to SummerSlam, I don’t know what show you’re watching. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest are going to come back on the same page and that’s Damian Priest as a hero. I don’t think that Dominik Mysterio, that Finn Balor, that JD McDonagh would be on the same page and I think those are the roads you’re going to go down. But ultimately, this title reign is turning Damian Priest into a good guy,” said Sam Roberts. [1:17:39 – 1:18:16]

The potential babyface turn from Rhea Ripley could see her let her evil side diminish after years of being a heel. One thing is certain though: fans will erupt once her music hits and she makes her long-awaited return.
