On Saturday, June 22, Nike revealed the new logo for WNBA and Las Vegas Aces standout A’ja Wilson. The unveiling followed Nike’s recent signing of Wilson to their esteemed lineup of signature athletes, with the announcement that she will soon have her own signature shoe.
After the unveiling of Wilson’s logo, it sparked significant criticism from fans who were unsure about its design. Nike explicitly clarified the inspiration behind its new logo on the company’s official website.
Wilson was surprised to receive a significant update from Nike just a few days after the unveiling. A shirt featuring Wilson’s emblem as the main highlight had completely sold out. Despite some complaints, many fans seem to really like the design enough to make the purchase.

The former South Carolina Gamecocks star was selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft. Wilson won two WNBA MVP awards and is on track to win her third this season. She is also in prime position to lead the Aces to their third-straight title.
Las Vegas had a rough start to the season, but since the return of All-Star guard Chelsea Gray, they have gone 2-0 and now hold an 8-6 record—good for fifth in the WNBA standings.
