Breanna Stewart is impressed with what she’s seen from the 2024 WNBA rookie class so far this season — particularly from Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.
Stewart recently joined the Best of Both Worlds podcast with Reese’s former LSU teammate Flau’jae Johnson.
Johnson asked the reigning league MVP which rookies have impressed her the most so far this season. Understandably, Reese’s name was one of the first to come up.
“I think Angel, the way that she’s constantly working hard — doing all the dirty work right now. Rebounds, steals, making sure she’s in all of the action. Whatever way she can help her team,” Stewart said of Reese.
Reese has strung together 11 consecutive double-doubles — setting a WNBA record in her rookie season. The No. 7 overall pick recorded 12 points and a career-high 19 rebounds in Tuesday night’s win over the Atlanta Dream.
Reese and the Sky have split their season series against Stewart and the Liberty so far this season — winning their first game and losing their second. They’ll face off again in two straight games on July 11 and 13.
