“I’m hitting you, not just hitting back,” Amber Heard can be heard saying in the recording. “Don’t tell me that’s like hitting back,” Depp can be heard saying in the recording.

Dennison asked forensic psychologist Dawn Hughes if it sounded like self-defense?

“In this case, if Amber Heard hit Johnny Depp first, it would not be self-defense,” the psychologist replied.

Dennison also pressed psychologist Dawn Hughes on her conclusion that Amber Heard’s subsequent violence against Johnny Depp was mild, pointing out a photo of Johnny Depp’s finger being severely injured and almost severed after his ex-wife threw a bottle at him.

“This photo doesn’t show mildness at all, does it?”, Dennison asked.

“It’s a serious injury,” Hughes replied.
