Emma Watson’s name needs no introduction in Hollywood. The actress quite made a name for herself at the young age of 9 and directly landed the role of Hermione in the famous Harry Potter Franchise. At the time of the Harry Potter auditions, the actress had no prior acting background or experience.

But she put in a lot of effort in perfecting the role in the audition clip itself. Even after being selected to play Hermione, Watson feared that she might lose the role to some other contender. But her hard work and preparation for the role paid off and she was finalized to play the role.

Hermione’s character is one of the most beloved characters in the Potterverse besides Harry Potter. When Emma Watson stepped into the world of acting, she was new to it and had a lack of experience. But it didn’t hold her back from auditioning for the role in Harry Potter. Once in an interview with the news outlet Variety, the 32-year-old actress revealed that she took many takes while filming the audition tape that it took an entire day.

“I really believe that you have to earn things. I don’t feel comfortable unless I have worked really hard.I worked hard to get Hermione, and my mum has a video I did for the first audition and she has me doing the same take over and over, like 27 times from nine in the morning until five in the afternoon and I was just relentless. I wasn’t sure I wanted to act, but I was sure I wanted this part.”

In a past interview, the casting director revealed that Emma Watson wasn’t the only one who got selected for the role. She and Hatty Jones (actress in Madeline) were the top two choices. The reason why The Circle actress had worries about losing the role to Hatty Jones was that she had done a big movie prior and was a little Hermione-like as well. But when the casting director saw Watson’s mindblowing performance at the auditions, she ended up getting the role.

Recently, HBO Max celebrated the 20th anniversary of franchise films by releasing a Harry Potter reunion. According to new reports by Bloomberg, it’s known that Warner Bros Discovery is finalizing the contract for a Harry Potter Series. The series will be based on the novels of J.K. Rowling.

As of now, the actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint haven’t given any confirmation in regard to their return. There are also talks about the Potterverse expanding and going for a 9th adaptation based on the Cursed Child novel. But looks like the key characters, Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter and Emma Watson’s Hermione won’t be back for it. Some reports also state that the actors don’t want to work with J.K Rowling due to her controversies.
