JOHNNY Depp smeared mashed potato, gravy and his own blood all over a rented villa during an “insane” three-day drugs bender, the court heard.

The star also allegedly hid bits of meat and other food in various places, including the wardrobe of the luxury house in Australia.

His ex-wife Amber heard described the terrifying moment she left her bedroom to be confronted by the “chaotic” scene of destruction he had created overnight in March 2015.

Holding back tears, Ms Heard said: “I had barricaded myself inside the bedroom. When I left, there was mashed potatoes and gravy all over the bedroom door.

“There was a bird in the house which scared to me to death – I guess it had flown in through a broken window.

“There was blood all over the carpet, big drops of it, and all over the walls.

“At first I thought it was paint, it was this brownish colour, on the walls. It blame clear to me they were messages, words.

“It was heavy and first then faded into a milky brown colour. I started to make out words but it didn’t make sense. Then there was a different kind of writing next to it, all the way down the stairs. Then it became paint rather than the blood.

“I realised the messages were to me. There was blood on the couches, with messages. He had burned holes in cushions and lampshades, with more blood and paint.

“There were more messages on cushions there was a couch flipped over. It appeared that he had set fire to one of the cushions because the carpet was burned around it.

“My paints were out. He had thrown or dropped my paint on the walls and floor. There were more messages on the walls in paint and blood.

“I found raw meat. At first I didn’t know what it was. I continued to find it hidden in various places over the next day. He had taken my nightgown and ripped it into shreds and wrapped pieces of food in it.

“There was lots of smeared mashed potatoes and gravy everywhere, and lots of blood.

“There was a significant pooling of blood on the floor. I could see tons of what looked like dripping blood.”

Ms Heard said she initially assumed the blood had come from her own arms, hands and feet, which she said had been cut on shards of glass the night before as Depp was trying to throttle her.

But she realised it must have been Depp’s own blood due to the volume of it.

She said: “I just didn’t know what to make of it. I made it downstairs and there was death metal blasting really loud. Tons of broken glass, windows broken. So much glass on the floor I could barely find a pathway to walk.

“The pingpong table was broken and on the ground.

“This was about 48 hours into his binge, his rage. I thought maybe he just needed to eat or sleep.”

Ms Heard said Depp then grabbed her by the neck and started screaming “at the top of his lungs”.

She said: “He was screaming at me for ruining his life. He said ‘you’ve ruined my f***ing life’ and he wished he had never met me and I did this to him, made him this mad, this insane.

“He said I did this to him and I always do this. He said he would slice up my face. I just didn’t want him to make me lose consciousness.

“I pushed his arms off me so he grabbed my hair and slingshotted me.”

She then claimed Depp picked up a “mint green heavy” phone on the wall and began banging it on the wall as he “screamed at the top of his lungs”.

Ms Heard added: “I watched as the phone was disappearing in front of my eyes. It was breaking into shreds.”

Ms Heard suggested this may have been how Depp severed his finger, but she couldn’t be sure.

She added: “He was unrecognisable, even as the monster. He was out of his mind.”

Heard claimed she was left with scars on her arms after cutting herself on shards of glass left on a counter from where Depp chucked bottles at her.

The star also told the High Court she feared Depp would kill her during the row.

In her witness statement, the actress described the explosive drug-fuelled row in Australia in 2015 as the “worst thing I have ever been through”.

She told the High Court that Depp attacked her while she was naked as he screamed at her and made “nonsensical accusations”.

Heard also claimed Depp urinated in front of stunned onlookers as he tried to spell her name in wee and hid steak in her nightgown.

And she said he had taken a “a massive amount” of ecstasy washed down with whisky.

The couple had travelled to Australia where Depp was filming Pirates of the Caribbean.
