Mary Gonsalves Kinney is taking on unchartered territories and successfully turning them into fashion-forward communities. The mother of four has been working in the fashion industry since at least 2009. While she is from Sacramento, California, her work has reached miles away. Currently, she has a high-profile client base in almost every industry. This includes CEOs and founders of many Fortune 500 companies, film producers, doctors, techs, venture capitalists, philanthropists, and executives.

Her main focus over the years has been the Bay Area of San Francisco, specifically the Silicon Valley belt. Kinney had previously shared her thoughts with Maghan McDowell of the Women’s Wear Daily about how creating outfits for techs and businesspersons can be tricky. She had said, “We’re on the cusp of a fashion revolution in the Bay Area and of selling the idea that you can still care about fashion and be this amazing powerhouse businessperson. The difference with tech is that a downplayed fashion image is more accepted. But trust me, this image is as equally strategic and thoughtful as the alternative.”

However, now, she is working everywhere from New York to Washington DC to Los Angeles, and even Las Vegas. This is exactly how she met the Standford alum– Cameron Brink.

Dressing up techies and helping them get a proper image can be quite tricky, majorly because they don’t know what they want as per the stylist. However, Cameron Brink is loud with her words and thoughts alike. Something that she wants to showcase in her outfits as well. Kinney met with the Sparks star almost two years ago through Ayesha Curry, Stephen Curry‘s wife, and Sonya Curry, Brink’s Godmother.

The two have quite literally stormed up the world of women’s basketball. From her Stella McCartney look for the 2023 John R. Wooden Award to her striking Balmain look in the 2024 WNBA draft, everything has been possible through Kinney’s vision. Now, the personal stylist has been taking care of the hooper’s tunnel walks as well, ensuring that she stands out but remains relevant.

Talking about working with Cameron Brink. Kinney said, “Cameron has an impeccable eye and loves to be cutting-edge and different. From the very beginning, we have had high expectations of who she wore and why she was wearing them.”

While she is currently focusing on getting the rookie ready for off-court antics, the hooper herself is busy being one of the top blockers in the league.
