Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks’ mum was seen arguing with BBC security staff as she was barred from entering the studio.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Pete is performing tonight with his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal as the competition enters its fifth week. Moments before the show began, his mum was pictured arriving late to the studio and was heard screaming ‘Let me in. Let me in, I’m Pete’s mum’ in front of shocked security.

Pete’s mum Tracy pleaded her case for around 15 minutes before a member of production opened the gate for her to rush in and join the rest of the audience. Tracy, wearing a white and green dress, was seen waving her hands in the air as she begged staff to let her inside the Elstree ballroom.

The Mirror have reached out to Pete’s reps for comment.

Earlier this week, Pete had been worrying about dancing a rumba with his Polish pro dance partner and Jowita took to her Instagram Story to give a message to the reality star as he admits that he has been “overthinking” the routine. Holding her phone so that she could address her followers directly, while standing with Pete, Jowita said: “It’s Friday which means we are in the studio again. Week go fast, huh? (Pete nods his head) You’re speechless?

“He really likes his dance. He really loves rumba (Pete shakes his head) He absolutely love rumba. (Pete pretends to cry) He’ll be okay.” Pete then affected an Eastern European accent and said “I love it a rumba.” The reality star then explained more seriously: “I just want to be talking that we love the rumba week. I’m sorry everyone.”

Jowita comforted the TV star by saying: “I’m just thinking about you.” Pete admitted that he was worrying too much about his steps: “No, just don’t worry, i’m just overthinking.” Jowita said she wanted him to simply feel the routine and added to her partner: “That is the goal for tomorrow, we are not overthinking.” Pete took up this rallying message and repeated: “No, not overthinking, we just do it.”

Meanwhile, Pete and Jowita have been busy shutting down rumours of a potential romance after fans noticed chemistry between the two. Appearing on Olivia Attwood’s podcast So Wrong It’s Right, Pete opened up about his love life after his pal questioned the possibility of a romance between him and Jowita.

She said: “Next thing I need to know, are you and your dance partner romantically involved?” Pete burst out laughing but didn’t shut the rumours down, simply telling the former Love Island star: “My God!” “You don’t get awards by not asking the questions!” said Olivia. Skilfully steering the conversation away, Pete explained: “One of the biggest problems is my b*******.”

Pete added: “Well I’m having to wear like Spanx … because otherwise Shirley will end up with a couple of black eyes.”
