Caitlin Clark will always be known more as an offense-first player, which also makes the fact that the Indiana Fever star rookie had two blocks during her team’s 91-83 at home over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Sunday surprising. 

Even more shocking is the information that Clark had as many defensive blocks in the win against the Sky as Reese has so far overall in the 2024 WNBA season.

Reese is bigger and stronger than Clark. She also plays closer to the rim, which gives her plenty of chances to reject shots. But it doesn’t look like Reese is capitalizing on them very much.

However, this shouldn’t be solely used in defining Reese’s impact on defense for the Sky. She is still the more prolific rebounder than Clark. In addition, Reese’s 96.1 defensive rating is much better than Clark’s 110.1.

Regardless, fans are all over the two again after the latest Fever-Sky meeting.

“She’s blocked a substantial amount of progress within her league.. does that count?!”

Clark had one of his best games this season in the Chicago game, as she dropped 23 points on 7/11 shooting from the floor while adding nine assists and eight rebounds on top of the aforementioned pair of blocks.

Reese, on the other hand, had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds plus five assists, two steals, and a block.

Clark is tied for 11th overall in the WNBA with 15 blocks in the 2024 campaign, while Reese is one of 15 players with exactly two blocks on the season, as of Sunday.
