Stephen A. Smith Compares Caitlin Clark to NBA Legend

The matchup between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky on Sunday night had to be one of the greatest WNBA games in recent memory.

Both Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese had fantastic games, but in the end, the Sky took the victory.

It wasn’t just Clark and Reese that made the game special, as players like Aliyah Boston and Chennedy Carter also had great games. That said, both star rookies displayed some incredible talent.

Though she only finished with 17 points, Clark was able to dish out 13 assists. What’s more impressive is that she could have easily finished with more had her teammates finished their shots.

One of these plays in particular gave Stephen A. Smith flashbacks of NBA legend, Magic Johnson. “That damn bounce pass that Caitlin Clark threw from past halfcourt, for crying out loud… That was a Magic-like pass”, said Smith on First Take.

That pass by Clark was just about as good as it gets, and though she didn’t win, she still deserves a ton of credit. However, credit where credit is due, Reese was outstanding, and she outworked everybody on the court to bring home the win against her rival.

The third matchup between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky has had the WNBA world on edge since tip-off, and it hasn’t disappointed thus far. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have been going at it, along with Chennedy Charter and Aliyah Boston.

The talk of the town surrounding the game, however, has been Reese’s strong message to the Fever after a tough bucket, saying, “Don’t f**k with me” to Indiana’s NaLyssa Smith.

Many people are enjoying this smack talk, including the WNBA themselves. It’s rare to have this much excitement surrounding one game in the WNBA, though it’s becoming much more common.

Even so, every player has done a great job of living up to the hype in a very highly anticipated matchup.

It’s difficult to perform well under tall expectations, but so far, this rookie class has done just that. Even Boston, a former first-overall pick, is finding her groove at the right time, adding even more excitement to the game.
