Travis Kelce has teased the Chiefs’ latest Super Bowl ring ahead of tonight’s ceremony in Kansas City.
Four months on from their win over the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Andy Reid‘s team are set to unveil their second straight championship ring in a glitzy red-carpet event on Thursday night.
And hours before it gets underway, Kelce has built anticipation in a teaser video shared by the Chiefs on social media.
The legendary tight end can be seen holding three fingers aloft – to mark the third Super Bowl win of his career – while pointing to his middle finger before the word ‘Tonight’ appears alongside a ring emoji.
Earlier this week, the Chiefs also made a Taylor Swift reference in another teaser video for the event.
Travis Kelce has teased the Chiefs’ latest Super Bowl ring ceremony in Kansas City
Swift’s presence during the team’s latest run to the Super Bowl was obvious after her relationship with Kelce became public last September.
The couple’s romance skyrocketed Kelce’s mainstream popularity, with Swift attending 13 games last season in between dates for her stadium shows on ‘The Eras Tour’.
The teaser video was narrated by actor and Missouri native Jon Hamm and starred Chiefs players George Karlaftis and Trent McDuffie, who looked at the history of the team while donning suits.
The video’s tagline said ‘Greatness never goes out of style’, quoting a line from one of Swift’s most famous songs ‘Style’.
The video player is currently playing an ad.
‘A championship ring ceremony is one of the most unique nights in the sports world as it represents the culmination of a year’s worth of work on- and off-the-field and marks the last time players, coaches and staff will celebrate together before turning the page to the next season,’ Chiefs President Mark Donovan said.
‘Winning back-to-back championships is an incredible achievement and having the chance to commemorate the season this way is a truly special privilege. We can’t wait to celebrate as an organization and share special moments from the evening with all of Chiefs Kingdom.’
The Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers in February
Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Co also got their hands on championship rings last year
In another teaser video for the ceremony, Kansas City quoted one of Taylor Swift’s songs amid her relationship with Kelce
Ahead of Thursday’s Super Bowl ring ceremony, Kelce dismissed suggestions that retirement could soon be on the cards and outlined his aim to avoid it for as long as possible.
The 34-year-old wants to keep playing football ‘until the wheels fall off’, he told reporters earlier this week.
‘[But hopefully, that doesn’t happen anytime soon,’ he said. ‘I really can’t put a timeframe on (retirement). I love coming to work every single day.
‘Obviously, I know there’s opportunities outside of football for me. You have to keep in perspective that I’m still a little kid when I come into this building, man.
‘I know I’m 34 years old, but I have a love to do this right here, in the middle of the heat in June. I love coming to work every single day.’
