On Tuesday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever faced off against MVP frontrunner A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces in a highly-anticipated matchup.
More than 20,000 fans flooded T-Mobile Arena for this regular-season game, marking the 5th most attended game in WNBA history.
After the Aces’ 88-69 win, Wilson was asked to discuss Clark’s impact on the league’s recent growth.
Clark’s arrival in the WNBA came with unprecedented fanfare and drama. Some felt WNBA veterans were jealous of the No. 1 overall pick — taking it out on her with physical play on the court.

Wilson feels that vibe has now shifted. The Aces superstar described the previous Caitlin Clark drama as “gossipy.”
“It’s a good vibe, it’s a good feel. People are just coming to see the product on the floor. It got a little too gossipy in the beginning, but then it started to fizzle out, because people are starting to realize we’re really good at what we do, we’re elite at what we do. I love the energy now,” Wilson said.
Wilson finished Tuesday night’s win with 28 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Clark recorded another double-double with 13 points and 11 assists.
